Sugges- tions about what should be included or excluded will be gratefully received by the B.C. B. Committee.

« 6 «

School manuals or textbooks, (except those dealing with the history of Canada);

Advertising and commercial printed matter;

Government publications such as sessional papers, statutes,

debates.

Anything deemed to relate sufficiently to Canadian affairs, history, natural resources, immigration and colonization, is listed regardless of its size or place of publication. As far as possible, each entry has author indentification, complete description, collation, notes and references to

previous or subsequent editions. The L.C. card number when available is also indicated. r

A broad subject arrangement is planned, with author index. Classes of the Decimal Classification so far leading in number of items are: religion, political speeches, railroads, description and travels, and Canadian history. Each item will be numbered, and publication in sections is contemplated.

This first annual checklist of publications by our members is manifestly

not an exhaustive one, although it contains all items reported to the Editor before February 15, 1959. It is hoped that the 1959 listing, to be published in the March, 1960 Newsletter, will be considerably more complete.
